Lion Food?

ostrich sand

‘You Christians are so limp wristed!’ I heard a soldier tell me while in Rwanda.

He went on to say: “Like the ostrich that sticks her head in the sand, the lion like it that way!”

This 6’8″ warrior laughingly told me this while in Africa, after we had exchanged bear hugs after I preached, and he exclaimed: ‘I thought all preachers were limp-wristed, you are STRONG!’
strong body
Now, I am no power team member, but I still hit 315 on bench and run 4x per week – strong body, strong mind!

As I was reading

Job 39:13 “The ostrich flaps her wings grandly,
but they are no match for the feathers of the stork.
14 She lays her eggs on top of the earth,
letting them be warmed in the dust.
15 She doesn’t worry that a foot might crush them
or a wild animal might destroy them.
16 She is harsh toward her young,
as if they were not her own.
She doesn’t care if they die.
17 For God has deprived her of wisdom.
He has given her no understanding.
18 But whenever she jumps up to run,
she passes the swiftest horse with its rider

Here, God Himself calls the ostrich a stupid bird.

Quite frankly, I don’t want to be like her!

The Bible says that the wisdom of God is available to us, that we have the mind of Christ.

When there is clear and actual danger, whether spiritual, financial, or through violent people, we need to have enough sense to act!

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Yes, the devil hunts, AS a roaring lion, but Jesus is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. When we rise up in His power and authority, devilish plots are dismantled, and we are delivered – IF we are aware.

Lets Pray:
‘Father, keep up alert, awake, and aware spiritually of what we need to be doing, in prayer, or naturally, to see Your kingdom advance, and to protect and steward that which You have entrusted to us. Open our eyes Holy Spirit, that we might fully obey today. I ask this, knowing I am heard and answered, for I ask in Your name Lord Jesus, AMEN!
