🔥 PASCAL’S “NIGHT OF FIRE” — FULL TESTIMONY (KJV‑Era English Translation)

The year of grace 1654,

Monday, 23 November,

feast of St. Clement, pope and martyr, and others in the martyrology.

Vigil of St. Chrysogonus, martyr, and others.

From about half past ten at night

until about half past midnight,

FIRE.

God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob,

not of the philosophers and of the learned.

Certitude. Certitude. Feeling. Joy. Peace.

God of Jesus Christ.

My God and your God.

“Thy God shall be my God.”

Forgetfulness of the world and of everything, except God.

He is only found by the ways taught in the Gospel.

Grandeur of the human soul.

“Righteous Father, the world hath not known thee,

but I have known thee.”

Joy, joy, joy, tears of joy.

I have departed from Him:

“they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters.”

“My God, wilt Thou forsake me?”

Let me not be separated from Him eternally.

“This is life eternal,

that they might know Thee the only true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent.”

Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ.

I have fled Him, denied Him, crucified Him.

Let me never be separated from Him.

He is only kept by the ways taught in the Gospel.

Total and sweet renunciation.

Total submission to Jesus Christ and to my director.

Eternally in joy

for a day’s exercise on earth.

I will not forget Thy word.

Amen.

🔥 SERMON: “SET A FIRE IN ME”

Exhorting Christians to Receive the Fire of God

🔥 INTRODUCTION — WHEN GOD TOUCHES A MAN WITH FIRE

Blaise Pascal encountered God for two hours and summed it up with one blazing word:

“FIRE.”

He wrote:

“Certitude. Certitude. Feeling. Joy. Peace.”

This wasn’t theology.
This wasn’t theory.
This was encounter.

And church — God still meets people in fire.

🔥 POINT 1 — GOD’S FIRE FALLS ON THE HUNGRY

Pascal wrote:

“Forgetfulness of the world and of everything, except God.”

That’s what the fire does — it burns away everything that competes with Him.

God’s fire is not for the casual Christian.
It is for the believer who says:

“Lord, I want You more than anything else.”

🔥 POINT 2 — THE FIRE REVEALS JESUS

In the middle of the encounter, Pascal could only write:

“Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ.”

When the fire comes, it reveals the Son.
It burns away religion and leaves relationship.

If Jesus has become distant…
If your worship has become routine…
If your heart has cooled…

You don’t need a new strategy.
You need the fire that reveals Jesus again.

🔥 POINT 3 — THE FIRE BRINGS REPENTANCE AND RESTORATION

Pascal confessed:

“I have fled Him, denied Him, crucified Him.”

The fire exposes — not to shame you, but to restore you.

He cried:

“Let me never be separated from Him.”

That is the cry of a heart touched by holy flame.

🔥 POINT 4 — THE FIRE LEADS TO TOTAL SURRENDER

Pascal wrote:

“Total and sweet renunciation. Total submission to Jesus Christ.”

The fire doesn’t take part of you —
It consumes the whole altar.

This is the missing message in modern Christianity:

God wants all of you.

🔥 POINT 5 — THE FIRE BRINGS SUPERNATURAL JOY

Pascal wrote:

“Joy, joy, joy, tears of joy.”

The fire doesn’t leave you burned out —
It leaves you burning with joy.

🔥 ALTAR MOMENT — “SET A FIRE DOWN IN MY SOUL…”

Please listen:https://youtu.be/lZiqgrtNT6s?si=SUyQ051wjKqmoMbt

Let the worship team begin to play softly.

“Church… this is our cry today.
Set a fire down in my soul that I can’t contain, that I can’t control.
I want more of You, God.”

Let that line become the prayer of the house.

As we sing, declare:

  • “Lord, burn away complacency.”
  • “Burn away distraction.”
  • “Burn away every idol.”
  • “Burn away everything that is not Jesus.”

Let us go deeper into Gods heart and presence today/:

“If you want the fire of God — not symbolic fire, not poetic fire, but real fire — step out from where you are and come to this altar.
Lift your hands.
Lift your voice.
Cry out for the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — the God of FIRE.”

Let the worship rise.
Let the cry intensify.
Let the Spirit move.

🔥 CLOSING DECLARATION

End with Pascal’s final words:

“I will not forget Thy word. Amen.”

I declare”

“May the fire that touched Pascal touch you.
May the fire that fell in the upper room fall again.
May the fire of God burn in your soul until Jesus is your everything.”
