The Spirit of the Leader is the Spirit of the House

The Spirit of the Leader of the House, is the spirit of the house!

Read with me:

Numbers 11:16 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.
17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.
24 ¶ And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.
25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.
27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.
28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

Have you noticed, that certain leaders set the very culture of the organizations they lead, by their personality? Notice in this passage, that God came down in a cloud, and took of the spirit that was on Moses, and placed that spirit, or anointing on 70 elders. In the case of Moses, there must have been a strong prophetic anointing upon his life, because first 68 of the elders began to prophesy, without ceasing, then the other two, busy with resposibilities in the camp, also received the anointing, and they too began to prophesy.

Moses did not get offended at this, but spoke a prophetic utterance: 29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!
This is still the heart of God today: 1Co 14:1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
Now, rather than give you a long teaching, I will let Graham Cooke do it; read his book: Developing your Prophetic gifting Graham Cooke

Yet, I want to continue in this line of reasoning for a minute. Could it be that the spirit of the house, comes from the anointing on the leader in the house?
If the leader is a strong evangelist, strong evangelism comes from the ministry. If the leader is a tremendous mentor, pastor, shepherd and counsellor, then tremendouse pastors, counsellors, shepherds get raised up. If the leader is a church planter, blast, build, and planting churches and ministries in the earth, then the ministry elders, partake of the spirit of building. Blasting, and planting churches and ministries. Things in the kingdom reproduce after their own kind.

While all this is great, wise leaders learn to ‘cross pollinate’ their ministries, bringing in ministry gifts, that can produce in the disciples of the ministry, the characture of Jesus, rather than being limited to merely the gift of the senior minister.

Ro 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son…
Our job as leaders, is to make people more like Jesus, not us.

Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

If the church you are leading is not able to do this, avail yourself of books, videos, and teaching materials from other ministry gifts, that are able to bring your people to a level that you cannot. In the meantime you will grow in the journey!

If you are in a ministry where that is not happening, grow anyway. You go ahead and find the ministry supplies that will cause you to grow in Christ, the only thing limiting your spiritual growth, is you, not your pastor.

Grow!

Let’s Pray:
“Father, send into my life, ministry supplies that will cause me to grow in you. Feed me Father, a good word in season, that I might be a blessing to this hurting world, in your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen’
