What is God speaking to you today?

The Creative Power of the Word of God

2 Kings 4:42 One day a man from Baal-shalishah brought the man of God a sack of fresh grain and twenty loaves of barley bread made from the first grain of his harvest. Elisha said, “Give it to the people so they can eat.”

43 “What?” his servant exclaimed. “Feed a hundred people with only this?”

But Elisha repeated, “Give it to the people so they can eat, for this is what the Lord says: Everyone will eat, and there will even be some left over!” 44 And when they gave it to the people, there was plenty for all and some left over, just as the Lord had promised.

Matthew 4:4

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

God did not create the universe from nothing.

We are so limited by sense knowledge, things we can touch, taste, see, feel, smell and hear through mere natural reasoning’s….

No, God created all material things, all life from a higher realm of matter, a substance called Spirit, for God is spirit and those who worship Him, must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Throughout our lifetime, God is pouring out His spirit upon all flesh, drawing us to Himself, and even as we have natural senses, deep within our hearts, there are premonitions of supernatural senses, as our heart of hearts, our human spirit hungers for the true realities of our Creator.

Jesus is the bridge, the only way to fully communicate between our infinite God and His Spirit, and this natural world.

Over our lifetime, the supernatural, our sixth sense so to speak, often becomes visible, as we experience dreams, divine interventions, déjà-vu experiences as the Holy Spirit alerts us to spiritual realities, to reveal the glories of heaven, should we but ask for them…

It is when heaven invades earth, that things get interesting.

In this account, we have a man of God, Elisha, walking closely with heaven, and its infinite resource. He understands not only that God is Creator, but that the WAY He creates is by speaking….

When He speaks, Holy Spirit takes from the realm of Spirit, and literal creates whatever He commissions.

While the people in this story had a natural hunger and need, they only saw natural supply and provision. There was not enough…

Yet, they spoke their natural reasoning’s in the presence of a man who had his spiritual senses alive and active!

He saw the throne of God, He heard intuitively the heart and intent of our Father for this situation: People were about to taste and see the goodness of the Lord and their natural hunger was about to be satisfied, as God spoke through Elisha, and Holy Spirit created the supply of food needed to feed everyone, completely, with no lack.

Further down the corridor of time, Jesus would perform this miracle several times, during His earthly ministry in dividing the loaves and fishes, yet His method was the same:

He saw heaven’s agenda (He only did the will of the Father), He believed and spoke what He saw, and the entrance of God’s voice, His living word into the earth, created the material provision needed.

This is how we are to live!

In tune, in step with heaven, only doing the will of our heavenly Father.

Like Jesus, seeking the will of our Father, carefully, daily, and ONLY doing and saying what we hear Him commission us to do and say.

As we do, the Bible becomes a living book, as He breaths upon its pages and passages, illuminating promises, and creating supernatural pathways for us to walk upon through the entrance of His word becoming a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths.

What is He saying to you today?

Hearing the Voice of God

Speak it out!

Just like Elisha and Jesus, He will create that which He commissions you to speak.

Let’s pray:

‘Father, Jesus promised that we should not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of Your mouth.  Lord Jesus, You have promised that You would be our shepherd, our personal pastor in this life, and that we would hear Your voice, and the voice of a stranger, we would not follow. We are listening Lord, and now, we speak that which You are saying to us, and through us to meet the needs of this hurting world. Amen.
